BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Rollsky Edouard (Holbrook) was named NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his efforts in leading the Warriors to the Region 21 title and their first trip ever to the NJCAA National Tournament.
Edouard was named to the Region 21 All-Tournament Team in leading the Massasoit men's basketball team to just its second regional championship in program history. The freshman averaged 19 points for the tournament, featuring a 23-point effort in an 82-80 victory at Bunker Hill. The shooting guard was lights out from downtown, going 7-for-13 from 3-point range against the Bulldogs.
He followed that effort up with 15 points in the finals vs Bristol, hitting three more 3s, including a game-tying trey with 12.1 seconds left that sent the game to overtime, where the Warriors prevailed, 77-74 in OT.
Edouard shot 48 percent from the floor and 52.6 percent from 3-point range, making 10 of 19 from beyond the arc. He also averaged 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals over the two-game stretch.
With the Region 21 title, the Warriors advance to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in the 50 years of basketball at Massasoit.
