Massasoit's Kiana Fernandes Named NJCAA National Player of the Week

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Freshman striker Kiana Fernandes of Taunton scored five goals last week en route to being named the NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Player of the Week.

Fernandes tallied five of Massasoit's six goals in a pair of victories as the Warriors boast a perfect 5-0-0 record on the season.

In the first match of the week, Fernandes netted both Warrior goals in a 2-0 shutout of the Bristol Bayhawks. The freshman followed that up with her first career hat trick in a 4-0 blanking of the Holyoke Cougars.

Fernandes has recorded multiple goals in all five matches to start her Massasoit career, and has found the back of the net 11 times.

Massasoit travels to Holyoke CC on Thursday.
