Warrior Soccer Tops MassBay, 4-1

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Junior Pereira (Brockton) netted a pair of goals as the Massasoit men's soccer team topped MassBay 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field.
In the 37th minute of action, a tornado warning was enforced by Massasoit, forcing a 45-minute delay in the match. At the time of the delay, the Warriors led 2-0 behind goals from Pereira and Leon Zaffonato (Brazil).
Following the delay and halftime intermission, Pereira would strike again, this time in the 50th minute to take a commanding 3-0 lead.
MassBay found the back of the net in the 69th minute thanks to an own goal by the Warriors.
The Warriors rounded out the scoring on a goal by Charlie Swann (England) who poked in a rebound off a free kick by Jorge Goncalves (Brockton).
Next up for Massasoit is a road contest at CCRI on Friday at 3 PM. With a victory, the Warriors would secure their sixth consectuve
